Welcome to Amy Lynden Photography! Our studio is known for creative images primarily drawing upon elements off the beaten path in urban and natural settings. We are one of the few state-of-the-art, non-traditional studios in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our studio, set in a warehouse in the Rose Garden neighborhood of San Jose, provides a setting where we can shoot with studio lighting as well as natural light. We are a boutique studio creating custom portraiture based upon each individual client’s personality + individual style.
Jenny came to us last year when we held a photoshoot for our ALP spokesmodels. We just adored her from the very start. She is so positive, outgoing, smart, and full of life. She has accomplished so much and is only a senior in high school! We were so excited we got to spend more time with Jenny when she came back for her personal senior portraits. See some of our favorites from her session below. She was truly a joy to work with and we wish her good luck with all that she will accomplish in the next chapter of her life!
As a photographer, every now and then you need to step outside of your box and shoot something totally different to get your creative juices flowing again! This past weekend I had that chance and had the pleasure of participating in a really special event that took place in San Jose called Retro POP! This event took place at the San Jose Women’s Club (which by the way was a really cool historic building in the Naglee Park neighborhood of San Jose which would be awesome for future fashion shows, weddings, theater events, etc.) – it was the perfect location for this 60s event. Studio Glam, Park Place Vintage and Time Zone Vintage did a spectacular job of stylizing the fashion show models in decade perfect hair, make-up, clothing and accessories. I felt like I stepped right into an episode of Mad Men (which happened to be season premiering the following day). It was a great retrospective on sixties fashion, music, and art. DJ Derek See spun 60s tunes during the show and bands The Inciters and The Champions both played lively retro sets.

Quick little sidetrack post… quick shout out to my good friends Wen & Sean McNally who have recently relocated to Tybee Island, Georgia! I met Wen (of Wen McNally Photography) and Sean several years ago at the SPA (Senior Portrait Artists) event, and we have since been to Vegas, San Diego and even Alaska together! They are excellent marketers & photographers, and I am always excited to see what they are up to next! They’re new location is one I’ll have to check out sometime soon! Best of luck to both of them and their family with their new endeavor, Island Photo & Video! They are sure to become the best photography studio on Tybee Island!
Another awesome day spent shooting in the studio, only this time, the task at hand was Luiza’s senior portraits. What a doll! She was so sweet and easy to shoot being the natural beauty she is, which also made Kori (our in-studio hair stylist & makeup artist)’s job a breeze. While in hair and makeup, we went through Luiza’s clothing and accessories and put together some adorable outfits. This is another reason we love photographing seniors; it is always so fun to go through their wardrobe and get a sense for their style. We often times find ourselves in envy of all the cute stuff we see here with seniors, not to mention inspired! As graduation is quickly approaching, we want to wish Luiza good luck in all her future endeavors!
